Tips from Barcelona

I’ve so many memories in this city and than also many tips for you. But first, better than a lengthy speech, my last journal to summarise everything !
( P.S. Don't forget forget to activate the subtitles if you don't understand French 😉)

Day 1

Time to discover the Yurbban Trafalgar hotel, this great place that propose you to live as a native. Small rooms for sure, but a minimalistic decoration as we love. The diner and lounge room in the perfect vintage-style. Good touch of humour here and there. But THE reason you need to choose this hotel and not another one, it’s certainly the view !

The check-in is done. Let’s go make our first steps in the sunny city. Luckily for us and our wallet, it was winter sales. If you look for the giant shop like Zara, Pull&bear, Stradivarius and many more, I definitely advice you to walk around the Plaça Catlunya and the Avinguda del Portal de l'Àngel. But if you like also the little shop where you can find the rare pearl, have a look at the Ribera the neighbourhood.

To end our first day properly, we couldn’t miss the “Tapas” step. We’ve checked around the hotel and find a little place just in front of the Palau de la Música Catalana (Thanks to Yelp, great to have the feedback of native). Tosca looks like an after-work bar, but we were amazingly surprised by the quality and the price. Around 35 box for two, Glasses of Wine and five-six Tapas included!

Day 2

First morning, first Churros ! Chocolate con churros is a true tradition in BCN. If you sleep late like us, go to Granja Pallerisa in the Gothic Quarter. No superfluous extras, just delicious late typical breakfast. On our way to the beach, we needed an extra-shot of vitamin. El Fruiter del Gòtic is here for you! Argentinian friendly guy who love painting also, you can check his work on place too.

Aaah, La Barceloneta. Instant teleporter to the sunny holiday you dreamed about. Take a walk side to the beach to enjoy music, pro sandcastle or… food! Yeap, La Barceloneta is full of exclusive seafood restaurant. We chose Somorrostro because we love modern interior. But especially for the score of their taps. And it is, a killer!

Day 3

We wanted a good sugar kick to start our last day. And El Flako definitely nailed it ! Super original place that only serve you corn flakes and co. Plan it before and be patient, it’s really small. Fortunately, it’s alway in the Gothic Quarter so you can easily find Plenty to keep you entertained while you’re quietly waiting your turn.

Next mandatory stop, La Boqueria. Explosion of colours and tastes! Hard to choose one and only one dish. So we pecked here and there what we liked. A lot of people for sure, but with the the razor calms of Bar Central you’ll forget everything.

With the full belly, we were ready to be tourists. We tried to see as much as possible. Sagrada Família, Parc Güell, Camp Nou and Casa Batlló. Not bad, hum ? And there so much more. I recommend you the tourist buses, looks like a trap, but the fastest way to view the most thing in a short time. Antoni Gaudí this genius.

Last, but not least, El Nacional. The perfect way to end this resourcing trip. A century space which comes straight from the Gadsby movie located at the heart of Passeig de Gràcia. With different areas, you can try traditional recipes from around the Iberian Peninsula. A must !

I hope you enjoyed this looooong article about this amazing city as much as I liked you write it for you. If you have not tested yet, what are you waiting for booking it right now ?!
Bacio, Luca.

Cocoon 2017

IMG_6241.jpg

Cocoon is one of the most important fair devoted to the art of living in Belgium. Every year, you can find the major players in the sector: decoration, design, furniture.

My love and I had the chance to be invited by the chef Marc Costers for a little cooking show. Such a great guy, who don't hesitate to share his best advice (and also jokes here and there 😁). We made a Christmas log with pumpkin, beetroot and mint cream. Can sound special, but everybody loved it.
